What type of bed frame should I purchase?
Your new mattress and boxspring need support! Queen and king-size bedding require a metal frame with a rigid center support. This is a warranty requirement. We recommend the following:
How should I rotate my new mattress?
We recommend that you rotate your mattress on a regular basis to refresh its comfort. To help minimize body impressions, matttresses should be rotated occasionally throughout their life. See the illustration below. If you have a two sided mattress, it is recommended that you flip your mattress as well as rotate to extend the life of the mattress.
How should I care for my mattress?
We suggest you use a mattress pad to protect your new set and keep it clean. Vacuuming is the only recommended method of cleaning. Do not bend your mattress. This could damage the innerspring unit.
What is Marvelous Middle™ Construction?
Patented in 1938, the “Marvelouse Middle” process anchors the comfort layers to the spring system in the center third of the mattress providing additional center support and mattress durability.
Look for the two posture lines when you are shopping for a Restonic® ComfortCare® sleep set . . . . it is your assurance that the ComfortCare® mattress is made with the patented anchoring process.
When purchasing a new mattress set, should I replace my boxspring?
Yes, the mattress and boxspring work together for maximum support and comfort.

I would like to put a queen or king size bed in my upstairs bedroom but don’t know if it would make it through the tight corner. Any options?
King and queen mattresses can be hinged. Call your local retailer for details and pricing. King and split queen boxsprings come in two pieces therefore easier to maneuver in narrow spaces.
I was shopping for a new mattress set and it seems so much higher than my set. Do I have any height options?
Lo-profile boxsprings are available and 5 inches in height and high profile measure 9″. In addition, most retailers offer a lo-profile bed frame as well.
Do memory foam mattresses hold heat making me feel too warm at night?
Memory foam does respond to body heat and body weight thus making it conform to your body and virtually eliminating pressure points. The quilted materials and special covers used help to greatly minimize any heat build up. If sleeping “too warm” is a concern, do not purchase a memory foam “slab bed” without a quilted top. In mattress models that only use memory foam as an upholstery layer, there will be no noticeable heat retention.
Why is latex considered to be one of the finest upholstery materials used in mattresses?
Used as either an upholstery layer in a premium innerspring mattress or in a latex foam-core mattress, latex offers unsurpassed comfort and superior support. Latex naturally conforms to body contours thus relieving pressure points.
Does a latex mattress increase body temperatures?
No, the pinhole design and natural open-cell structure provide “breathability” through air circulation.
Should I be concerned about being allergic to latex?
The high quality latex we use goes through a 6-step process including washing and curing stages to remove any impurities in this natural renewable resource. Premium quality latex is naturally hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and dust mite resistant.
On July 1, 2007, the U.S. government instituted 16 CFR part 1633 which required all mattress sets to be fire retardant. This law also requires that mattresses are tested with and without a foundation. A mattress should not be sold with a foundation it was not tested with. Any Restonic®-Escanaba mattress can be sold with any Restonic®-Escanaba foundation.
What type of fire barrier does Restonic®-Escanaba use?
Restonic®-Escanaba’s fire barrier is an all-natural, antimicrobial, non-synthetic product that offers chemical free protection. It is nontoxic and odor free. The entire mattress is quilted with this Milliken fiber: Visil® FR fiber is a modified viscose fiber whose constituents are cellulose and silica. Due to the silica content, the fire-retardant properties are built into the product from the start. Although viscose (rayon) on its own burns, the non-flammable silica in Visil acts as a barrier to the emission of heat and smoke during combustion.
